This project was one of my first major immersive experiential activations. It was such a great experience working with FX and VT Pro to bring this vision to life through creative build design, lighting, effects, technology, and sound. One of the things I enjoyed most was figuring out the ROS and the guest experience as they move through the space - not just from a design perspective but through script writing and sound design. This activation had it all from the beginning you entered, BA Actors that fully engaged the guests, interactive stations and takeaways, clues and puzzles to solve, and jump scare moment at the very end. We also had to plan for this activation to travel. It’s first stop was SXSW where it garnered a lot of press and was one of the most top rated activations. Second it traveled to Vegas where we had to adjust the floor plan and experience, tailoring it to that location. All in all it was such a great project with such a solid team backed behind it at VT Pro.
Behind the Scenes
As the design director I was constantly updating and working on 3D white models along side our experiential designers. Then moving towards testing some of the interactive clues and special effects. As we got closer to the date, it was staying close with our fabricator to make sure the materials and build call outs were there while signing off on paint and finishes.
